Artist's Description
The three-quarter moon, also known as a waxing gibbous moon, refers to a phase of the moon where it appears to be between half and full illumination. This occurs after the first quarter moon and before the full moon. From an observer's perspective on Earth, the three-quarter moon appears as a large, bright, and round disk, with a curved shadow on the opposite side of the illuminated portion. During this phase, the moon is gradually moving closer to a full moon, and the illuminated portion of the moon is on the right-hand side for observers in the Northern Hemisphere, and on the left-hand side for observers in the Southern Hemisphere. The three-quarter moon can be a beautiful sight to behold and is often used in literature and poetry to evoke feelings of wonder and enchantment.
